We're sweltering in a heatwave here. And it was exactly this time last year when we taught a One Garden Workshop and birthed the essence Rage in the gorgeous Bunya Mountains.
Extreme weather brings out the worst in us. It pricks our comfort zones and diminishes our tough resistance until all hell breaks loose. We certainly saw some classic examples of this last year.
I was just going through some of my writings on the essences I have not released yet thinking that I was creating a new range. But after a recent consultation with our Celestial Guides, we are now including them with our main range and calling the whole range One Garden Divine Flower and Nature Essences - Emotional Gardening for the Soul. This means that we now have 82 stock essences. I will gradually release these new essences as I complete the writing and place them on our website for purchase.
The other BIG change is we're phasing out the use of alcohol. Guided by both our customers and Celestial Guides, we have been shown that more and more people are now sensitive to alcohol due to the damage it causes with our health - even in small amounts. So we're now creating our essences with saline solution.
Rage - made from Stinging Nettle and Lace Bark Tree
If we are not healing and making progress, it could be because we are stalled in our anger and rage. Anger/rage is a physical response and must be physically released in order to heal. There are both adult and childhood rage. However, most of the rage originates from our childhood when we were not allowed to be angry or unresolved injuries that have been left to fester over time. Rage covers our fear and grief. Annoyance, irritation and frustration are indicators that deeper levels of anger are present. Often people who feel the heat are harboring suppressed rage.
The essence Rage, is a catalyst for change, a code breaker, it breaks through long held, negative, emotional patterns making way for true loving expression to emerge.
Rage is an intense form of anger, likened to a volcano. Whilst a volcano can remain capped and dormant for long periods of time, the potential of eruption is always possible. Rage is normally associated with heat, but resentment is the highest form of rage yet it is a cold, steely form of rage…it’s when we become white with rage. Manipulation, cold-heartedness, calculating, callus intention to do harm are elements that are often associated with heart-harden criminals such as Hitler, Anthony Hopkins' portrayal of “Silence of the Lambs” type crimes. But whether we want to know it or not we all have this potential within us and while this remains in us, we contribute through our universal interconnection web, to the heinous crimes taking place around the world. But coming back to our own backyards, these denied emotions cause massive havoc and sabotage in our own lives.
Rage ties up all other emotions. With rage we feel a sense of false power, strength, rebellion and righteousness, which is not love. Rage helps to separate/detach us from our fear and grief; emotions that are associated with weakness, vulnerability and powerlessness. To be in a place of suppressed rage, we essentially are in “lock down” where no other movement can be expressed. The opposite place to rage is surrender, surrendering to tsunamis of grief is opening our soul to love and assistance from the purest forms of love.
It’s interesting that we fear the surrender to our grief, yet it is paradoxical that when we surrender to these emotions, we become powerful and allow transformational healing.
Rage can cause energy deprivation experienced in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or similar. It takes massive amounts of strength and resources to suppress our rage and keep all other emotions locked up.
Stinging Nettle in traditional herbal medicine is used for blood purification. When rage is present it muddies and thickens the blood making the blood cells sticky and malformed. This hinders nutrient absorption and distribution. The colour of rage in our spirit body is a muddy, maroon colour, the same colour in the centre of the Lace Bark flower.
Rage is an emotion that we are fearful of. We feel out of control. For we have experienced rage in our childhood and remember how terrified we felt.
One may ask, "how does a person become murderous and rage-full?" A little puppy bounded up to me when I returned from making this essence. A puppy is innocent, trusting and playful. But if that puppy grows up living a life of deprivation, abuse and torment, it would become savage and attacking. The same applies to ALL humans who are born innocent and loving. But growing up without love, in an environment of abuse, torment and neglect, the child grows into an adult full of rage and vengeance. In the absence of love, we gain survival strategies which take on many addictions. This may be debilitating illness that requires others to care for us or living a life of bullying as simple examples. It is often true to say that “sugar sweet”, placating people are likely to be full of suppressed rage, because placating is part of the control and manipulation for them to avoid their pain.
Our friend and One Garden Practitioner, Samantha Kay offers some observations.
“A point of interest in its Doctrine Of Signatures, that I remembered today is that you can stroke a nettle plant 'the right way' & not get 'stung' as the barbs only go one way. This is like us with our rage, you can meet our addictions & rub us the right way but as soon as you don't, watch out! The barbs bite!!
Nettles can be used to rebuild the thyroid gland when it has been destroyed by our rage, and also for men who have prostate issues. Also very beneficial for kidneys - where our rage turns into grudges & resentment, unforgiveness….
As you would know the botanical name is Urtica dioica - interesting link to Urticaria (hives), I also found it useful for treating skin rashes & irritation due to its blood cleansing properties. Where homoeopathically it is going to address the anger manifesting on the skin
Nettles contain both histamine (involved in allergic reactions) and formic acid (same as what makes ant bites sting) AND its own antidote to that - a compound which acts as an anti-histamine - interesting as the rashes & skin issues are so linked to childhood anger & rage…and God provides us with an antidote - natural love - until we are able to get to the root & transform it……
It was so beautiful the way we were shown what I feel for myself is the biggest block to my rage - shame through the brachychiton (Lace Bark) flowers. I looked it up - Aboriginals used the bark of the tree as shields, interesting that the flowers are petal-less?”
Prior to making this essence during our level 1 workshop, we were experiencing a long period of drought during the wet season. For many weeks the storm clouds would tease on the horizon and then move away. Australia was experiencing extremes; record breaking heatwaves, stuck in holding patterns, taking people to the brink. This is what our soul feels when we suppress our rage. As we began speaking about the essence we were making the next day, an intense rainstorm broke through the barrier. The intense flow was sheer relief for us. We collected this water for our essence the next day.
The following week of making this essence, the eastern part of Australia was inundated with record floods and cyclones. Raging flood waters gouged out the dry creek beds and spilled over the banks across the land. I have always been a keen observer of the interplay between our collective suppressed emotions and the weather. If we want change in the weather then we need to deal with our suppressed emotions.
There was an intense ethnic feud raging in the suburbs of Ipswich near Brisbane. Everything was reaching extremes, highs and lows, the pendulum was swinging from one extreme to another.
The tree that gifted its flowers to make the essence with the nettle plant had its roots exposed when the road was carved out of the earth. To get to our deeper emotions, we need to access the root, the source of our pain.
The influencing movie for this essence is the "Life of Pi", a beautifully crafted story of a young man named Pi and a tiger adrift and alone at sea, both vying for survival. I feel the tiger was representing the rage the young man was trying to control. The most poignant moment in the movie was Pi’s surrender to God. The essence Rage encourages the sweet beauty of surrender. By laying down our defensive weapons of resistance to being defenceless to the ultimate power of love, we win the war. Rage prevents us from having sustaining relationships and resources.
During the ensuing weeks after making this essence, I tested it out. This was the code breaker that I desperately needed. For I was in a Mexican standoff against Love, God and the world. I found myself being an unloved little girl, arms folded, stomping in a rebellious tantrum, telling the world that I was not going to love because the world didn’t love me, so why should I give the world my love. So, do you think this is a place to invite love into my life? I found myself being the tiger, roaring and lashing out, taking what I wanted, but then helplessly crying when I got myself into difficult circumstances. As I surrender, allowing myself to feel powerless and vulnerable, pathetic and weak, it breaks the ground to allow compassion and love to creep in.

Like all our essences, Rage is a divine gift, influenced by the backdrop of extremes. To demonstrate that we must learn to weather our emotional storms and allow ourselves the extreme feelings of deprivation and separation from love, causing a breakthrough to allow love to flood us, overwhelm us and finally reclaim us.
With much love
Christiana
